THE WINDOW BOX GALLERY
A Greenwich Workshop Authorized Dealer

This site was created to record the posts of The Window Box Gallery. I was a big fan of this site and was checking in periodically to see updated posts. One day the site was gone from the website. I am assuming that the domain registration had expired.

Recently I discovered that the domain was available, so I bought it with the goal of recreating some of its original content from archived pages.

The Window Box Gallery has always been a cherished space for art enthusiasts and those with an appreciation for the finer things in life. I definitely didn't want someone else purchasing the domain and re-purposing it for something unrelated to the original posts and the ethos of the gallery. Preserving the spirit of the original website was paramount. The gallery holds a trove of memories, both of the art pieces and the events surrounding them. One such memory is a bit of a humorous mishap. While I was reminiscing over some of the original posts, I had a glass of red wine in one hand and my young toddler in the other. In a moment of distraction, the wine spilled all over our treasured antique oriental rug. My wife's reaction was, as you can imagine, a mix of shock and horror. Red wine on an antique! In our moment of panic, we remembered a trick involving janitorial supplies that we once showcased in an art installation at the gallery. It was an unconventional exhibit highlighting the blend of utility and art. Grabbing some of these supplies, we set to work on the rug. It's fascinating how sometimes, art and practical life intertwine so seamlessly. Today, the rug stands as a testament to both our love for art and our resourcefulness. Though the original Window Box Gallery website is no longer active, this archive version lets fans and admirers, like myself, continue to delve into its rich history and stories. I hope you find as much joy in these memories as I do. Enjoy!

James C. Christensen is inspired by the world's myths, fables and tale s of imagination, Christensen wants his work to add up to more than a beautiful-if sometimes "curious"-looking work of art.  Recently retired as a professor of art at Brigham Young University for over 20 years,  Christensen continues to be a "professor of Imagination."  Viewing the world as his classroom, his hope is that through whatever he creates be it a fine art print, porcelain or book he can convey a message, inspiration or a simple laugh.  He believes that teaching people to use their imagination helps us find solutions to sooth the stresses of everyday life or get a little lift to help us keep going.  In short: all things are possible when you share Christensen's philosophy that Believing is Seeing."

Bev Doolittle

Palm Springs, CA
Published: The Greenwich Workshop since 1979

Bev Doolittle is synonymous with the word "camouflage art."  nevertheless, it has always been the stories and ideas behind Bev's art which have intrigued and challenged her the most, remaining adamant that her use of camouflage is a means to an end (to slow down the viewing and storytelling process) and not an end in itself.  Always and innovator, Bev has created a new, interactive format in visual storytelling.  And she's even added a new twist to the use of "camouflage" to slowly reveal a hidden message.
